Sustainability

At Club Wonthella, we are committed to reducing out environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices. Some of the initiatives we’ve implemented to contribute to a healthier community include:

  • We're proud to say that our club is powered by clean, renewable energy. By harnessing the power of the sun, we're reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and minimizing our carbon footprint.

  • In an effort to reduce plastic waste, we encourage the use of plastic-free drinkware such as reusable cups, metal straws, and biodegradable plates. By making this simple switch, we're helping to prevent plastic pollution and protect our oceans and wildlife.

  • We’re passionate about recycling and that’s why we ensure that all cans and stubbies used at our club are recycled through the local Containers for Change program.

Additionally, we welcome members of the community to contribute to our recycling by brining their recyclables to our facility.

  • Water is a precious resource, which is why we've taken steps to significantly reduce our water consumption. Our synthetic greens require far less water than traditional grass greens, helping us conserve this valuable resource without compromising on quality.

  • We take pride in maintaining our greens without the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides, or insecticides. This approach protects the health of our members and the surrounding environment.

  • In collaboration with the City of Greater Geraldton, we utilise recycled wastewater to irrigate our greens. By repurposing this treated wastewater, we're able to reduce our demand for freshwater resources.

At Club Wonthella, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it a core value that guides everything we do. By implementing these initiatives and continuing to explore new ways to reduce our environmental impact, we're proud to play our part in creating a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
